This very active U3A group,
providing educational, recreational and social opportunities for retired or semi-retired
people in the area around Skipton, North
Yorkshire, has in excess of 700 members.
We offer 50 classes, covering subjects from
Aerobics to Woodturning, with most classes running from October to April. Click

Little Red Bus
Community Transport - is
developing a new volunteer car scheme to assist those who struggle with
transport to appointments, shopping etc. It is looking to recruit drivers
initially in the following areas - Skipton, Gargrave & South Craven. It has
been suggested to them that the U3A may be a good source of active retired
people who may have an interest in this. Anyone wishing to volunteer their
services should contact Sylvia Merrett, Little Red Bus(Craven), The Station

Craven College
Luncheon - This annual
event is on Tuesday, 30th November, at 12 noon in the main Craven College
building in the High Street. It serves as a convivial lunch for up to 36 persons
as well as providing a live event for the training of college catering students.
The cost is £8 for a three course meal plus tea/coffee afterwards. Tickets will
be on sale at the U3A Open Day on August 10th from Mary Taylor, who is this
year's organizer.
Coffee Mornings -
An opportunity to meet old and new friends on the first Saturday of each month
from October to July, from 10.00am to 11.30am in the Soroptimist Rooms, Otley Street,
Skipton. (Lovely cakes !!) New Year's Day 2011 is on a Saturday. That
coffee morning will therefore be on 8th January.
