Costs
We keep our cost low as we are a self help group. Our Tutors and Group Leaders give their services free. The annual Membership Fee is £20 plus £5 for each one term course and £10 for a two term course. Courses not requiring a venue are £5. For most courses there are small additional charges to cover incidental expenses
Open Day
This is held annually in August at Skipton Town Hall. An opportunity to see the work of the Groups and speak to tutors. An area is set aside to welcome new members.
The University of the Third Age is a worldwide association for men and women of the Third Age who believe that there is no age limit to learning and creative activity and that keeping a lively mind and healthy body is essential to mental and physical well-being. The U3A started in France in 1972, with the first British U3A opening in Cambridge in 1982. Craven U3A was founded in 1985 as an autonomous branch of the National U3A.
